GUR – A little bit of ‘Summer Cleaning’ of the website.
December 8, 2014Happy New Year
January 6, 2015HO HO HO Merry Christmas!!!
Get the belts loosened and the fridges stocked Christmas is upon us! Best wishes from the committee to our fellow Brothers and their families. Have a great break from the stresses of work/study/life and enjoy the feast that always accompanies Christmas, (I’m sure a beverage or two will be enjoyed also), However remember those extra couple of Kg’s gained will make the first couple of trainings and games just that little bit harder so why not get in the backyard and run around with some touch footy or cricket, your body will be thanking you for it.
Crescent Heads 7s
The Club is entering a team in this event which will be held on Saturday 7th February 2015. Selection is open to all club players and training sessions will commence in January.

Christmas Drinks
There was a great turn out at the Christmas drinks with people from all corners of the club attending, we had some larrikins, some youngsters, some old mates and everything in between, great to see! Was also awesome to see Colts coach Matt Ryan there meeting some of the boys as well as Francis Cullimore who will be assisting the Club at various times throughout the season.
Colts End of Season Trip
With the arrival of December came the arrival of the colts end of season trip and what a cracker it was, a real bonding session that made the start of next season just that little bit more exciting. With a range of activities planned the boys made the most of relaxing in the Nelson Bay sun. From golf days and barefoot bowls to brewery tours and the odd beer I’m sure all the colts + the veteran toy boy (Roy Anderson) had a great time.
Beach Training
Last year saw the colts down at the beach for some pre-season sessions, these are now available for everybody. From all accounts there are some seniors that are are super so we can’t wait to see them down at the beach (non playing members are also welcome so don’t be shy, the more the merrier). These sessions will be starting in January on a Saturday at Curl Curl, watch this space for further details.
Pre-season and such
To help us get over Christmas bludge the Club has planned a number of pre-season events which should help get the body back to that well-oiled machine it was prior to Christmas.
Touch Footy
Starts Tuesday 13 January 2015 at Chatswood High School from 6.30. This is a great chance to bring along those mates who want a gradual introduction to the Club before starting real pre-season training at Roseville in
February. Everyone and anyone is welcome so come on down to get over the no rugby blues.
Colts Intro Night
Colts we all know how much you guys love an excuse for a couple of schooners and on Friday 16th January at the Willoughby we are putting on a night for you guys, so don’t be shy, grab some mates and come down for a beer and a great night getting to know what this great club is all about, more details will follow so watch this space.
Have a Great Christmas, stay safe and look after each other.
