Notice of Annual General Meeting
October 13, 20202021 – Round 1 Roundup
April 12, 202175 Years of Brothers Rugby
That’s right, 75 years ago the Christian Brothers Old Boys Rugby Club was formed. During that time we’ve seen some successes and disappointments. Been up, and down, the divisions. Won a few grand finals, lost a few and changed our name, but the one thing that’s remained a constant is the camaraderie and commitment of our players past and present. We love playing, and winning, but, more importantly, we love the enjoyment of playing and socialising together.
Our 75 year anniversary is a great reason to celebrate and we’re planning for a few big events this year, especially our Vets Day on the 19th June and the annual Brothers In The City Lunch on the 9th July. Be sure to put them in your diary.
As well as our 75th Anniversary it’s the ten year anniversary of some memorable premiership wins and honours – 1951 Burke Cup, 1981 Barraclough Cup and Division 2 Club Championship, 2011 McLean cup & Grose Cup as well as the Division 4 Club Championship.
For us, it’s also a great opportunity to catch up and celebrate the 2020 ten year anniversaries that we missed out on celebrating last year – 1970 Judd Cup, 1990 Barraclough Cup and the 2010 Nicholson Cup won by the “Fiesty Fours”.
To celebrate, commemorative polos and jerseys will be available for purchase – order details coming soon – so you can wear them with pride on Vets Day.
This year we’re again in the Meldrum Cup it’s still relatively localised but with some interesting new clubs to play, Maccabi in the eastern suburbs and King’s Old Boys whose home ground is now in Centennial Park. It’s a 6 club comp that will have us playing each other 3 times to make for a 15 week season, giving us plenty of rugby to play, and watch.
Our first game of the season kicks off this weekend, 3:15 at Roseville Chase Oval against Wakehurst. It’s short notice but subbies only just finalised the comp.
We look forward to seeing all our supporters there.

Brothers Development Fund
A huge thank you to everyone who supported us via the foundation last year. Your support is truly appreciated.
Your donations made it possible for us to do so much in supporting financially challenged players and allowing them the play rugby during the COVID pandemic.
It also allowed us to invest in training equipment, in particular, Power resistant bands to develop player’s leg drive as well as strength at the breakdown. The results on the field speak for themselves.
THIS YEAR’S FOUNDATION PLANS
This year, as well as continuing support for disadvantaged players, we’re looking to invest in a VEO Camera. This camera has ball tracking capability and allows us to record games in 4K 180′ view for analysis and coaching of actual gameplay situations.
You can see a sample of what it can do here.
This camera is smart, real smart. It can automatically pick up key highlights of the game and mark them in the replay for quick viewing of key moments in the game.
As well as an invaluable coaching tool it will allow us to post replays of our games for our supporters and promote our sponsors in our emails and across our social media platforms. It’s a real winner in our eyes.
Please help us to raise the much-needed funds for our foundation to support our players and coaching staff by making a one-off or monthly TAX DEDUCTIBLE DONATION below.
