Semi Final Roundup
September 13, 2020Notice of Annual General Meeting
October 13, 2020The Grand Final was the game we expected. Tough and unforgiving. The scoreline really doesn't reflect the closeness of this game and the gritty defence both sides exhibited. Congratulations to Manly Savers Rugby Club on their win.
For us it was a case of "not quite" but still we have so much to be proud of.
As a club, due to COVD, we didn't expect to have a season and with 4 weeks to prepare found our selves with one team a week out from the start of the comp and relegated to the Meldrum Cup competition.
With a late influx of players, we were able to start the season with two teams, playing a Halligans each week to satisfy the rugby playing needs of those extra players. Despite a slow start, losing our first two games in a seven-week season, we built from there, attracting more and more players, and had both teams make the finals, finishing 2nd and 3rd in their respective comps.
An amazing effort and a testament to the effort put in by the players, training two nights a week, and the coaching staff. A huge thanks to Lenny Rawara, Mark Durisic and Adam Pisano for the work they put in to develop the player's skills and ensure a successful season.
This year showed what we are capable of and I'm sure 2021 will be even bigger and better.
Thank you to everyone for your support

Not to be.....this time
Let me start off by thanking each and every one of my players, it was a major achievement to make the grand final, not the result we wanted, but we will use the learnings to make us stronger next year.
Credit to our men, individually each of them played their hearts out, I’m certain the numbers would show possession and territory in our favour. In the first half, we spent a good 30 minutes in the opposition half, not being able to convert our advantage to points unsettled our game plan. The second half almost identical as the first.
Playing under lights at night, it seems the opposition has a good grasp of it, they had the crowd behind them and exposed us by some very clever kicking. It being their 4th time at the grand final showed, they were able to execute on the small number of chances they got.
The scoreline definitely didn’t reflect the effort, unfortunately, that’s not how the game is scored and we have to give credit to the Manly defence. They were committed and resolute and were not going to let us cross the line no matter what we threw at them. Definitely some great individual efforts, Smithy as always a workhorse, he never stopped trying, Jayden stuck to his work description, Rich, another who left it all out there, playing with a dislocated finger.
The season has come to an end and I am sure we are all feeling disappointed by the result yesterday. If we take a step back and look at what we achieved throughout the season we should all be proud and I believe it signals a new beginning for Brothers Rugby, if we can continue from here, I have no doubt Season 2021 will be bigger and better.
Thank you to the club, my fellow coaches Mark Durisic and Adam Pisano, Club President, Karl Houghton, Club Captain, Michael Parker, and the Board for all their support this season.
Points this week.
3-Jordan Smith - Never stopped trying, some good hits and turnovers
2-Rich Barnett - Solid around the ruck especially in D
1-Jayden Wall - Unsung.
Thanks,
Lenny
