January 9, 2017Trials & Training
March 7, 2017It was a big year in Australia, The first Holden car, the model 48-215, popularly known as the FX, rolls off the assembly line with an on-road cost of approximately £760. H.V. Evatt (Yes, that one with the rugby ground named after him) becomes President of the United Nations General Assembly and the HMAS Sydney was commissioned into the Royal Australian Navy as its first aircraft carrier.
CBOB’s Rugby was only one season old and already making its mark on the Sydney rugby scene. The 1948 2nd XV went through the B Grade season undefeated and went on to become Metropolitan Premiers. What a fine, clean cut bunch of fellows they are.
It’s interesting to note the photograph sponsor, GOW Plumbing, who are a current sponsor of the club. That would have to be the longest associations in club rugby.
Be sure to join us at our 70th Anniversary Celebration to relive all these, any many more, great memories.
