Round 2 Roundup
July 26, 2020Round 4 Roundup
August 9, 2020This week we took another short trip up the road to Beauchamp Park to take on Chatswood Rugby Club. Unfortunately due to an extensive injury list, we didn't get a Halligan's team on the field this week.
The Meldrum Cup team really hit their straps and showed the work at training was starting to pay off, which is all thanks to the hard work Lenny and Duro are putting into getting the guys in top form, and the commitment from the players.
Next week, COVID restrictions pending, we are up against Lane Cove at Roseville Chase Oval. Meldrum Cup kicks off at 3:15pm and we're still trying to finalise a Halligan's but feel confident we'll get one happening as we have about 15 players coming back from injury. We'll confirm the time once we know.
Let's hope we do get a Halligan's happening because, if we do, Eddie Sudradjat will run on for his 100th game with the club. I encourage you all to get there to cheer him on as he takes the field.
We look forward to seeing all our supporters there.

Aye Cuma Zumba, Zumba, Zey!
We led and we closed, a good team effort all around.
All 25 players had game time today. Finally got the ball wide, Jayden Wall the beneficiary of that play, could have been more. The refereeās points were indicative of how dominant we were today. He gave 3 points to Joseva Bilo, a formidable force, 2 Points to Rich Barnett, led by example, and 1 Point to Nick Mccamley all class with 3 tries.
We improved our defence by picking up our comms, something we spoke about throughout the week and before the game. It was pleasing to see and hear players setting up defence, pointing, and moving forward to make their tackles.
Our forwards set a good tone from the first scrum, on the back of it we scored our first try through Nick Mccamley. We dominated the set-piece and collisions, but our discipline let us down. Three penalties in a row allowed the opposition to get within 5 metres for a driving maul leading to a try.
A big thanks to Josh Coy who filled in at loose head prop. Hopefully, you can join us for the rest of the season.
Points this week go to;
3- Stuart Raines - The GENERAL, set up and directed the plays well. Put up some exceptionally good chop tackles in his channel.
2- Francisco Phillips - Industrious player whose stocks continue to rise.
2- Joseva Bilo - A cut above, he will go around or through you. When he tackles you, you will not come back asking for seconds.
1- Ben Wright - Did not hold back, carried with real purpose, bending the defensive line.
1- Nick McCamley - With 3 tries and good running meters from the back.
Thanks,
Lenny
