Santa’s Sausage Sizzle
Big thanks to all those who attended what would have to be regarded as an outstanding success. While we did not count all of the adults and children, the numbers could be estimated to range from 40-60!! Our function must have appeared very attractive to other groups in the park at St Leonard’s as we had several children lining up to talk to “our Santa Claus”. We had to ‘politely’ tell them to go and find their own Santa Claus.
Huge thank you to Andy Carroll and his partner Aurore Dissy for organizing the event. The food, drinks and outfits for the children were a real treat. Also, a big thanks to Kay and Ian Meers for organising Santa’s toys for the kids.
Well done to everyone. We must not forget to thank Santa (special guest appearance by an ‘import’ – Brett Gibson) – in a sequined Santa Suit – haven’t seen that before!. The large group of children were very excited upon Santa’s arrival. So much so that one of them removed Santa’s beard. From that point on the children were told they were actually seeing one of Santa’s ‘helpers’.
Bowling
A determined and extremely talented group then cracked on to the Norths Bowlo have a few beers and a bowl. We shall not mention who won the horse’s ass (it was the pink team) but a special mention has to go to Marty, Liam and Niall on the Gold team, who fought back from some early nerves to steal a win with an astounding display of bowls in the last two legs. The Silver team anchored by Moose and Rocky just weren’t able to steady the ship and fatigue and old age told in the end.
Well done to everyone involved. It was an enjoyable day all round for both children and adults.
